DCPS and Flamboyan Foundation are working together to create a family engagement toolkit specifically made for special education teachers. The Special Education Family Engagement Fellowship seeks full-time program special education teachers who excel at engaging families and wish to improve family engagement programming for all students with disabilities and their families.
The application deadline date is Monday, November 16, 2015.
Selected teachers who meet the participation requirements will receive a $1,000 stipend in recognition of their commitment to family engagement and improving outcomes for students in D.C. This professional learning community gives selected participants the opportunity to 1) learn research-based family engagement strategies, 2) create family engagement tools for SPED teachers, and 3) make recommendations regarding a larger family engagement initiative for DCPS SPED teachers.
