Now that the holiday break has come to an end and we are embarking on a new year, we thought it was a perfect time to reflect on a few of our successes in 2017. - Flamboyan’s family engagement framework prompted educators from Korea to visit Washington, D.C. to learn more about sustainable effective family engagement strategies.
- After a nationwide search, Flamboyan hired Alicia Robinson as the organization’s first-ever Talent and Equity Leader.
- Flamboyan’s DCPS partner schools were honored with cash prizes for winning Standing Ovation Awards recognizing their excellence in family engagement, school innovation, and other categories.
- A Flamboyan parent trainer guest blogged for Getting Smart, detailing her journey partnering with her son’s teacher as part of April’s World Autism Awareness Month.
- Flamboyan partnered with Montessori schools in Puerto Rico to help get more than 700 students back to their classrooms after Hurricane Maria.
- Flamboyan expanded its Middle School Family Engagement Partnership portfolio naming six D.C. middle schools as partners.
- Flamboyan partnered with on-the-ground humanitarian relief organizations in Puerto Rico centers to provide one million gallons of clean drinking water to five of the most devastated areas affected by Hurricane Maria.
