Flamboyan Foundation is entering its fourth year of partnering with D.C. schools to build the capacity of educators to work with families to advance student achievement. Flamboyan currently partners with 24 schools – of which 15 are DCPS and 9 are public charter schools, and 21 are elementary and pre-k – 8 and 3 are middle/high schools.
We are excited to announce 7 new Family Engagement Partners for the 2014-2015 school year:
These seven schools were selected through a competitive process and will receive intensive coaching, professional development, and funding to strengthen their family engagement practices.
DCPS has received funding from the Heising-Simons foundation to conduct a multi-year, randomized control trial (RCT) evaluation of Flamboyan’s Family Engagement Partnership work, led by Mathematica, to show the impact of effective family engagement on student, parent and teacher outcomes. 6 of the 7 new partner schools will be participating in the randomized control trial evaluation.
